Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: August 30, 2026
HTML Monitor is a small private application used by its owner to manage their own eBay inventory. This policy covers the application and this public website.
Information from eBay
When the owner connects an eBay seller account, HTML Monitor receives OAuth authorization tokens and may receive seller identifiers and listing information. Listing information includes eBay Item ID, title, SKU when present, price, quantity, listing status and dates, images, categories, condition, and variation details when available.
Sign-in and seller consent take place on eBay. HTML Monitor does not receive the seller's eBay password.
Information stored by HTML Monitor
The application's server database stores authorization tokens and connection details, cached listing records, and locally entered inventory information: Container, Item #, and notes. It also stores record timestamps and inventory workflow statuses. Listing-validation files may retain listing details for troubleshooting and comparison.
The web server keeps operational request logs, which may include IP addresses, request paths, browser information, timestamps, and response status. These static public pages do not add analytics, advertising trackers, or cookies. The application's OAuth connection flow uses a session cookie to associate consent with the connection request.
How information is used
Information is used to authorize the eBay connection, find and compare listing records, associate physical inventory with Container and Item #, and maintain and troubleshoot the application. HTML Monitor does not sell personal information.
eBay and hosting
HTML Monitor communicates with eBay to provide the integration. eBay handles its own services and sign-in under its own privacy policy. Application information is processed on the server hosting HTML Monitor; this public site does not introduce additional analytics or marketing services.
Retention and deletion
Application records and diagnostic files do not currently have an automatic expiry period. They are retained for operation and troubleshooting until reviewed and removed. A listing disappearing from eBay does not by itself erase local inventory or location records.
HTML Monitor has an endpoint for eBay Marketplace Account Deletion notifications. Accepted, verified notifications are recorded for manual identity and deletion review; receipt alone does not automatically erase application data. The receipt stores encrypted account identifiers and limited notification metadata. Review must identify the affected account and any associated personal information, including relevant diagnostic files and backup copies. Locally owned inventory records are not indiscriminately deleted.
To request review or deletion of information associated with you, contact the owner using the address below. Any information that must be retained for a legal obligation will be considered as part of that review.
Security
HTML Monitor uses HTTPS and server access controls to help protect information. Access to authorization tokens and application records should be restricted to operation of the application. No storage or transmission method can guarantee complete security.
